Houston Arts Alliance's space125gallery is dedicated to presenting recent works by Houston artists whose artistic accomplishments have merited their selection for a Houston Arts Alliance Individual Artist Fellowship Award. As the only funding organization in Houston that invests resources in the development of individual artists, Houston Arts Alliance looks forward to presenting the innovative artwork created by Houston’s amazingly talented individual artists, furthering our city’s reputation as a hub for creative activity and as a cultural tourism destination
space125gallery first opened to the public on December 5, 2003 with e merging, an exhibition featuring the work of five up-and-coming Houston artists selected as the 2003 Emerging Artist Fellows. Artists Marcia Chamberlain, Angela Maxwell, Whitney Riley, Ketria Scott and Anderson Wrangle presented recent work in painting, photography, video and mixed media sculpture. Most of space125gallery exhibitions are based around HAA Individual Artist Grant Recipients or other HAA grantees or related projects.
The 1,500 sq. ft. gallery space at the Houston Center for the Arts exhibits approximately 7 shows and installations every year. Exhibits are free and open to the public.
